Sterling job game in, game out providing reports and player ratings and opening up lively debates for the rest of us. Towards the end of his tenure, had to report on dire dross through the bleak times. He'd have loved it this season. Wherever you are, Vinny, thanks for your contributions. I'm sure you're loving this as much as the rest of us.

Bollox to all that - the highlight was years ago when there was a minor verbal net based fracas that culminated in a pub meet when Vinny's dad stepped in and the pratagonist backed off sharpish

Agree with scraper here. The highlight of vinnys reports were when he mentioned that he got a pie at half time or his car broke down or something

Billy, there are plenty of people who enjoy reading Vinny's match reports, including me. But not everyone likes the same thing, so those who don't like it should just not bother reading it. Bu some people just like moaning. You need a thick skin for this website but that is part of its charm.
Can't he c&p his match report from the other blog he does?

Top bloke. Shares local newspaper duty with me and covers my ESPN shift sometimes. I'll let him know he's missed. BTW Iron Duke 8:53 Mon Mar 7 - that's true but if you're spending your own time doing something for the love of it and you don't think anyone is interested then there's no point in wasting your efforts.

They'd be good if they only were about everything apart from the game. The chants, the bantz, the food, the mongs amongst the uzzer fans etc
If I want a report of the game, a newspaper will have it.

How about this:
The game started. Everton scored. Then they scored again. Late on, West Ham scored. Twice. Then they scored a winner in the last minute.
Short and to the point. All you need to know.
